Benjamin Helge serves in the Eurasia region, based in Havířov-Šumbark, Czech Republic. He works closely with the Silesian Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession (SECAC) and Project M.I.S.E. In the Czech language, Project M.I.S.E. stands for Mobilizace, Integrace osobnosti, Společenství, Evangelizace. Translated into English, Project M.I.S.E. stands for Mobilization, Integration, Fellowship, Evangelization. Currently, Project M.I.S.E. works toward the vision of 21/10, starting 21 mission groups over a 10-year period. As part of the 21/10 vision, Benjamin works in Havířov-Šumbark with one of these mission group teams. He teaches conversational English in public schools and leads weekly mission clubs in English and Czech. During the summer months, he helps organize English Bible camps in the Czech Republic and Poland. Benjamin also coordinates the LCMS GEO (globally engaged in outreach) missionaries who serve in the Eurasia region.
Benjamin is from Albuquerque, N.M., where his home congregation is Christ Lutheran Church. He graduated from Concordia University, Irvine, Calif., with a bachelor’s degree in music, as well as an emphasis in education and a minor in worship arts. Benjamin served on one short-term mission trip to Asia, two short-term mission trips to Hungary and one short-term mission trip to Mongolia, Thailand, India, Hungary and Bolivia during his time at Concordia Irvine. He enjoys playing volleyball, writing songs, traveling, hiking and cooking.
Pray for Benjamin as he serves in the Eurasia region and in the Czech Republic. Pray for his continued learning of the Czech language. Pray for continued support and encouragement for him as he serves. Please thank God for the work He is doing in the Czech Republic and for the Christians who are currently gathering together through Project M.I.S.E. Pray that new leaders would be raised up to serve in the new mission group teams under the 21/10 vision. Pray for new GEO missionaries to serve throughout Eurasia. Pray for the new ministries and groups God establishes through Benjamin’s missionary service. Prayerfully consider joining or sending a team to help lead a summer camp in Central Europe.
