Settling Into Indonesian Spring
We pray your Easter was (and continues to be daily!) a blessed celebration of our victory in Jesus Christ. In a world full of uncertainty and fear we – though not immune to these things – transcend them. They do not define us – the empty tomb of Jesus defines us and beckons us into each new day with hope. A hope grounded not in our own efforts or the efforts of organizations or nations, but the certain and sure hope of our Lord’s return.
Here in Medan, it’s hot, humid, and spring! We’re settling into our home, continuing our language studies, and giving thanks for partners like you who enable us to serve our Lord and His Church here in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
The photo below is Caedmon as he celebrates his 16th birthday Indonesian-style. Which means having friends come over to break eggs onto his head and then douse him in flour. Just one of the many cultural nuances we’re learning as we mark our 3-month anniversary in Indonesia!
