Zalmanoff_Dominican Republic_Jul2020

God has a funny sense of humor.

Isn’t it strange how this year is playing out? Did we ever expect a lot of the things that have happened in the first half of 2020? Is life on the mission field ever simplistic and follow the plan that is laid out? How many hairs really are on my head?
These are just a few of the questions I have for God, albeit some of them are a little silly. He sure has been teaching me a lot lately, and I’m glad we can learn and grow together as we continue to navigate life as brothers and sisters in Christ.

The power in the Dominican Republic goes out frequently. That doesn’t stop us from getting together and celebrating small victories, like this Sunday night when the curfew was finally pushed back and we could gather for evening meals again! Although on this day, we ate ice cream before dinner so it wouldn’t melt due to the inability to keep it cold. Why isn’t ice cream always offered an appetizer!?
