Enjoying the Ride!
This school year, like so many, is flying by. Filled with speed, intensity, and anticipation, it’s basically a rollercoaster – and I’m enjoying the ride! Team Taiwan has been working hard to strengthen Bible and English curriculum, judge English speaking contests, and go about the daily busy-ness of school. As the first semester comes to a close, we’ll take a break to celebrate the arrival of the Lunar New Year. But first, I’d like to reflect on the work of sharing the Gospel and two school year highlights.
The Junior 2 (8th grade) students have been studying the 10 Commandments. While learning about Commandments 1-3, we discussed how to love God. To conclude the lesson, students answered this question: Commandments 1-3 are good rules. Agree or disagree. Why? The following are some of the student responses. Please forgive the grammar and syntax errors of these hard-working students.
Agree – Commandments 1-3 are good because . . .
- God will gives us good lives and God loves us.
- God saved the people. (Israelites) He wanted the people to trust and love Him.
- to worship God it’s a way of say thanks to God.
Disagree – Commandments 1-3 are not good because . . .
- we can have many god.
- because I don’t believe God.
- the most important thing in our life should be ourselves.
Some days, it’s difficult to see student opposition to the Gospel. Please pray for the missionary teachers at CMS. Faith comes by hearing, and Team Taiwan is committed to sharing the Good News daily, no matter what the ride may bring.
