The St-Onges In the Way: March 2020

Folks who have been reading my newsletter for the last six years have gotten used to seeing the familiar “Work Up North” and “Work Down South” sections on the front page. This month, there is only one: “Work under Covid-19.” Missionaries are sent out into the world to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. That need remains and is, in fact, only going to get greater as the impact of self-isolations, quarantines, and stressed medical systems settles in.

Much of my work has not changed. I still meet regularly with the missionaries in the field via teleconference. I still work with donors, supporters, and on recruitment. In other ways, work has changed a lot. I’ve exchanged the sanctuary at Ascension for a cramped office, with Deb and the girls playing keyboard and singing around a webcam for live, online services. I write and record more as well, producing two devotions (written and audio) each week.
