Posted: 01 Jan 2020 04:52 PM PST I’m not normally one to celebrate New Year’s much. Case in point: I went to bed at 9:30 last night. But given that it’s not only a new year but a new decade (I sort of see the argument of you who disagree with that, but you’re still wrong), I’ll jump on the social media bandwagon and share some personal and professional highlights from the past ten years. See how many you can pick out as ways that God was preparing me for the role I presently hold.
2010 [year 2 of my stint as a GEO Missionary at Ysleta Lutheran Mission (YLM) in El Paso, TX] 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 God only knows – literally – what the next decade will hold. One thing I do know for certain is who will be holding me: Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. (Psalm 139:7-10, emphasis added)
I also know, like most years in the previous decade, that I plan to read through the entire Bible. If you’d like to join me, here’s the plan from YouVersion’s The Bible App that I’ve chosen for 2020:
Until next time, blessings!
