Merry Christmas!
I pray this Christmas Season sees you and your loved ones, united once again, and celebrating the birth of the beloved Christ child. I am blessed to be in the Dominican for Christmas, celebrating alongside my missionary family. However, I am also looking forward to returning to Canada for the first time since I moved here almost two years ago, for New Years.
December has been a wonderful, yet tough month. We praise God for his mercies and plan, but mourn alongside the Ite family. Pastor Obot Ite, his wife Abas and their 8-year old daughter Goodness, have been serving in Jamaica since 2007. They are one of our Alliance missionary families and are from Nigeria. God saw fit to call Abas home in late November, and she now rests in the arms of her Lord. Please keep them in prayer this Christmas season. I was blessed to attend her beautiful funeral service this month, and we once again praise God for his steadfast and ever present love for each and every one of us.
The latter half of December saw a flurry of activity – from kids Sunday School events, and women and men’s Christmas get-togethers, to icing filled children’s Christmas parties and a wonderful missionary women’s brunch. There is much to be thankful for this month and I look forward to sharing some photos soon. The new year brings much hope for each of us. We remember that we cannot take any day for granted, but that the Lord gifts us breath each day. I look forward to continue to update you in the new year. January will be a busy month of regional meetings in the United States, a quick one week reconnect with some mission partners and then two weeks of intensives at the end of January and beginning of February, in Fort Wayne. Please include all of our missionaries that will be travelling over the next few weeks, in your prayers.
