Come, oh Holy Spirit, come! Today is Pentecost!

Today we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit and the “birthday” of the Church!

Here at International Lutheran Church we are blessed to be a community similar to that of the first Pentecost congregation, made up of people from many different tongues and cultures from across the world. The words of Jesus, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink!” (John 7:37b ESV) are an invitation to us all to receive from Jesus, our Risen Lord, the Spirit without measure. As the baptized we are refreshed again in God’s Word and receive the gift of His Spirit in and with the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus so that we would make known His Name to the ends of the earth.
