By God’s grace, we convened our third virtual FORO on Saturday, October 17. We are grateful for those who made time to listen and learn with us and for those who had prior commitments but faithfully hold the Lord’s work in Jamaica before His throne in prayer. You are invited to strengthen (or begin!) your relationship with Lutheran Ministries in Jamaica in the following ways:
1. Mark your calendars with the tentative dates for our next FORO meetings (see the black box below). Please reply to this email before making travel arrangements: updates will be provided as the dates get nearer.
2. Review the minutes from our last virtual meeting on Saturday, October 17.
3. Help sustain Rev. Obot Ite and LCMS church planting efforts in Jamaica by contributing according to how the Lord has blessed you.
4. Prayerfully consider whether the Lord is leading you or your organization, congregation, circuit, or district to walk alongside Lutheran Ministries in Jamaica on an ongoing basis. Use the Statement of Christian Intention to share your plans with us so that we might most effectively use the resources entrusted to us.
Know that your questions, comments, and suggestions are welcome at any time. You are a blessing, and we look forward to showing you some Caribbean hospitality next spring.
And of course, please keep the work of Pastor Ite and Ancella Gregory, as well as the teachers and students of Parade Gardens Lutheran School, in your prayers. We in the west are blessed with tremendous material and health resources for coping with a pandemic. Other countries do not have those same blessings and need our encouragement and support. All people are the Lord’s, wherever they live and no matter under which flag they serve Christ.
