Advent Greetings/Happy New Year Of The Western Church!
Dearly Beloved,
Greetings in the Name of our Coming Lord! Amen!
We recently wrapped up the annual LCN Council (the supreme governing body of the church). About twenty resolutions were arrived at peacefully. The Council recreated their Confessional commitment to the Evangelical Lutheran Confessions. Following the COVID-19 restrictions, one should say, it was an excellent gathering. There will be no regular Convention come January as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic as a convention of that nature in most cases consists of over 6,000 persons. However, in place of Convention, there will be a one-day Thanksgiving service on the Sunday of the usual Convention week.
JEM Lutheran Seminary is preparing for its end of semester exams and Christmas break, third week of December.
Once again, I would like to seize this opportunity to thank my very beloved great supporters who, even during this uncertain time, still graciously fund my mission in Africa. I also thank the individuals and groups that have sponsored the five students in Ft. Wayne to the successful completion of the STM program. The commencement was on November 13. And I would like to thank those who were able to leave their work and / or traveled to attend the commencement irrespective of these uncertain times.
1. Of the students who stayed with me as a result of the lockdown and who had parents pass away, there is still one burial to take place. That is going to happen this week. 2. We are expecting the five students who just completed their STM in Ft. Wayne to return to Africa sometime this month and resume teaching at JEMLS next semester. I look forward to their coming. It will be a big relief to me in terms of reducing my workload. To God Alone Glory Be! Amen.
Prayer Requests
1. Please pray that the remaining burial will be carried out as scheduled. 2. Please pray for the safe journey of the students coming back from Ft. Wayne. 3. Please pray for the successful completion of this semester, and for a productive final examination for the JEMLS students.
As we prepare our hearts and minds for the coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ, I pray that He will come and make His bed in your hearts and homes. Amen!
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Wokoma.
