Peru and Mexico FOROs
FOROs in April and May kicked off a busy season of church-partner meetings and graduations around Latin America. A FORO is a gathering during which local church leaders meet with partners to discuss and plan future work to further the Gospel. John worked with LCMS regional leadership to prepare next year’s budgets for work in Peru and Mexico. In this photo, three of our fellow missionaries are in Mexico for the FORO and deaconess students’ graduation. (Photo: Johanna Heidorn)

Theological Symposium at the DR Seminary
The fifth annual symposium was held May 24–27 at Seminario Concordia El Reformador here in the Dominican Republic. Pastors and church leaders from seventeen Latin American countries gathered to learn about the new Spanish-language hymnal, build relationships with one another, and worship our Lord together. John was an integral part of planning the symposium and managing business affairs when many of the mission’s partners were in town. (Photo: Johanna Heidorn)

Arrival of New Missionary Family, the Benevenutis
We are excited to welcome the Benevenuti family to the Dominican Republic for a summer of missionary orientation. The Benevenutis are from Brazil and will be going to Jamaica, where Pastor Arthur will serve alongside Pastor Obot Ite to preach, teach, and show mercy to the saints in the city of Kingston. John has been working with the Benevenutis on the financial and logistical aspects of their move. Even Sophie helped by going to the grocery store with Mommy and providing entertainment as we assembled furniture in the house the Benevenutis will be staying in during their time in the DR.
