In The Way with the St-Onges

First, Bonne Fête Nationale du Québec (June 24) and Happy Canada Day (July 1) to all of you! June 24 is a huge holiday for Quebec, especially this year with the passage of Bill 96 which recognizes that “Quebecers form a nation” and that “French shall be the only official language of Quebec [and] the common language of the Quebec nation.” The first impact of the law that the church felt directly was a notice that, from now on, wedding certificates would be issued in French only. We are awaiting news of what other changes may be coming.
In the midst of the busy work of mission in June, the St-Onges squeezed in a short trip to visit the Douthwaite family. Joanna Douthwaite and Sophia participate together in an online teen Bible study. Pastor James is Ascension’s circuit visitor. We were actually in Washington, DC as the Supreme Court announced the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
A blessed summer to all of you. May the weather not be too hot or inclement, may the travel be safe and not too expensive, and may the Lord bless and keep you always.
