Serving the Lord in URUGUAY

News from the Sharp Family

The Big Story

The Coronavirus pandemic has affected people all over the world and as missionaries we have had to adapt to it, too. They didn’t train us to be experts in video editing or online education, but we are doing okay!

· Thank God for the means he has given to us to carry on ministry during the pandemic.
· Pray for safety and wisdom for our son, Elias, who is beginning high school.
· Ask God to bless our search for a new pastor to develop the northern mission.
· Pray that the right location opens up for our downtown mission.
· Thank God for peace and democracy in Uruguay and the peaceful elections and transfer of power, not a given in Latin America.
· Pray God’s peace for our family who are still mourning the loss of my dad, Tom.

Angie shares on our work in Schleswig, Iowa (pre-pandemic)
This month we share with you how we have been coping with and working during the pandemic, recap our home service, update you on the missions and school ministry in Uruguay, as well as personal news and prayer requests. It’s a long newsletter because it’s been a while! I am going to start getting shorter newsletters out every month, but please take the time to read this “big one” and we welcome your feedback!

Helping us bring Christ to the people of Uruguay

We depend on the gifts of God’s people to carry out God’s call in this country far away from our home, family, and friends. Thank you for your support and care that makes our ministry possible.

You can contribute gifts that will directly support this ministry through Mission Central (click to download an adoption agreement or click here to give online) or through the LCMS Office of International Mission (click to download a prayer and gift sheet or click here to give online).

We want to hear from you!

We love to answer your questions and tell you about Uruguay and our work there. . Here we are catching up the folks that work at the LCMS International Center. We are always available for virtual presentations!

Please drop us an email or call if you would like to set up a visit. If you know of a class, small group, LWML, or anyone who benefit from a chat with a missionary family, let us know!

We are your missionaries

We know we would not be doing this important work without your help.
For your prayers, support, and encouragement, THANK YOU!

Yours in the True Light,
James, Angie,
Elias, Ambrose, Callie, and Maggie        John 1:9
