Mercy Matters from the Mission Field
The backdrop of the nativity scene in the picture below may look different than what some of us are used to. Christmas this year may look different, too. Some of us may be awaiting our Lord’s birth with new faces in new places. Some may be missing a dear loved one by their side. There may be new diagnoses or old wounds that seem fresh this time of year. Christmas brings many emotions in many different ways for all of us, and while this year may look different than the years before, one thing is not different. God is with us! Through every valley and on every peak, the Lord Jesus Christ is with YOU! May you be filled with the hope, peace, joy and love that has been won for you by the ONE who promises, I am with you always!

Heavenly Father, we give you thanks and praise for your steadfast love and mercy. Comfort and strengthen those who grieve the loss of dear loved ones during this season of light and life. Fill those who hunger with food for both body and soul. Send company to the lonely. Give rest and healing to those who are sick. Move us to turn to you always with the assurance of the hope and joy you have given us through the birth of your Son, Jesus Christ, through whose name we pray.
