My dear friends in Christ,
Blessed Advent to each of you! Here in Tanzania, the season is quite different than my home in Nebraska! We are moving into our summer season with temperatures in the low 90s in the afternoons. I just planted grass in my yard–imagine, planting in December?! However, while the weather is quite different, the season of preparing to celebrate the birth of our Savior is very much the same! The readings, hymns, and decorations at church all reflect this time of preparation. Hebrews 13:8 reads, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” It brings me great joy to be united with you in this!
Today I am especially mindful of my dear grandma who entered into her forever home with Jesus one year ago. Join me in thanking God for His great gifts of forgiveness, life, and salvation for Grandma Bonnie Brown. Please also keep my family in your prayers–for comfort in grief, as well as for current health challenges: Grandpa Richard Brown (back pain) and Grandma Norma Kanoy (recovering from a fall and shoulder surgery). Thank you for praying with me!
Our King was born, He died for us, and He rose again so that we might have eternal life as God’s own dear children! What incredible GOOD NEWS that we have to celebrate this season, and throughout all our days!
Wishing each of you a very Merry CHRISTmas and a blessed New Year!
