February 2020

News from Erin Mackenzie
Serving the Lord in the Dominican Republic

"Serving" literally and figuratively while hosting a short-term team in Lima, Peru, last week. The children of Castillo Fuerte, our mercy house in the La Victoria district, frequent a local park and have recently taken up volleyball. Home visits alongside said team and local ministry workers provided an intimate glimpse into some of their lives and stories and will allow me to pray for them with greater specificity.

One Great Fellowship of Love

Earlier this month, we celebrated love (and friendship, in the Dominican) – our love for one another, and, more importantly, Christ’s great love for us. It’s the latter that unites us in "one great fellowship of love" (LSB653). Mere days into their time on the field, last week’s Peru short-term team picked up on the commonalities shared by humanity in every place, whether south of the equator or north of the border. This month, learn something new about what the Dominican has in common with the "Great White North," and pay special attention to the front-page announcement about my upcoming northward (though not THAT far north) travels.
