Friends in Christ,

It’s hard to believe that it is nearly September!  As children and teachers return for the new school year, it can be a busy and stressful time for many.  Today, I pray that you might be encouraged by the reminder that the Lord is our Shepherd–if you haven’t read it in a while, read through Psalm 23 again and soak in these comforting words as you go through this busy season.  Click on the link to my most recent newsletter below to read a few examples about how the Lord continues to be with and guide me in daily life and in ministry.

Pastors, secretaries, and LWML leaders receiving this email, if you would be willing to print off the PDF newsletter and share with members, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

Strengthened in Christ,

Sarah Kanoy RN, BSN
LCMS Missionary to East Africa

Photo of the Month:  Recently, my dear friend and the pastor of my church, Rev. Jacob Aga-Khan, and his wife Victoria have been walking through the valley of the shadow of death.  After an emergency c-section and a hospital baptism (pictured below) a few days later, their infant daughter Grace passed away.  Grace’s short life is a great reminder that the ministry of proclaiming the Gospel has eternal benefits.  Sin, death, and the power of the devil are real, but thanks be to God, our salvation is secure through the gift of faith in Jesus.  Join me in praying for Rev. Jacob and his family.  Pray also that through the work of the church and by God’s grace, many people will come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ.
