Christmas in Thailand looks very different, but, at the church and the English center, we still celebrate Jesus coming to Earth for us!
My Christmas this year will have a high in the mid-nineties and will be spent teaching my students. Most countries in Asia do not celebrate Christmas with a day off, and this includes Thailand. For missionaries, this gives us an extra opportunity to share about God’s love and why this is a special day for us.
The church and center host a Christmas block party every year, that will be the Saturday before Christmas. This allows connections to be made with the surrounding community, as well as sharing the message of Christmas.
We have also been celebrating Advent at church by lighting the Advent wreath each week. We will have a big Christmas celebration on the Sunday before Christmas.
