House Hunting and House Blessings

Our friend Mari has moved into a new house!
Over the Christmas season, David had the pleasure of blessing her home by reading Scripture in every room and singing God’s praises, bringing the assurance of His peace and love.

Update on Travel…

500 Miles, 10 Days, 8 Cities  In December, David took Pastor Machado (our new Alliance Pastor) to northern Spain to meet our many members who live outside of a congregational city.  Delivering the Word and the Sacrament at each stop, as well as sharing fellowship over meals is an integral part of the mission here in Spain. To learn more about how crucial travel is, you can read December’s update:
They were also able to meet face to face with 3 different “new contacts” who have been emailing with David, asking about Lutheranism.  After meeting with each of them, one family is going to join a Lutheran congregation in our sister church in Portugal, and the others are going to start weekly Lutheran catechism classes, via skype. We now have 17 youth and adults in Catechisis!

Praise God for all that He is doing in people’s lives as
we work together–you there and us here,
sharing Jesus Christ, crucified and risen!

We need your help to continue His work!

Will you make a gift today?
Could you prayerfully consider
adding $5 to your monthly pledge amount?

That would amount to an additional gift of $60 per year

Whatever is the right amount for you,
God will use it to further His kingdom!

Thank you for working together to share God’s love!
We appreciate your prayers and your financial support!

Pastor Machado has used our home in Cartagena as his home base for the last 6 weeks as he travelled to each congregation city–Sevilla and Madrid as well as Granada and northern Spain to meet members and lead Divine Services.  Now he is in Madrid, staying with members who have graciously opened their home to him while he looks for an apartment, and gets settled in the city where he will serve Emanuel Congregation jointly with newly ordained Pastor Felipe Lobo.  We look forward to when he can visit again and make Venezuelan arepas for us!
Interceeding in Prayer

Please pray for the people in Puerto Rico who have suffered much due to the continuing earthquakes.  We have a missionary team there meeting people’s physical and spiritual needs.  Pastors from around the LAC Region of LCMS International Missions are also traveling to Puerto Rico to help the team.  David will be traveling there this next weekend to serve for 10 days.

For Isaac Machado’s house hunting!  He is encountering several road blocks even though he has made offers on at least 5 apartments to date.  We trust that God knows where Isaac should live–now we pray that He would lead right to that perfect place!

For several people in Cartagena who have been attending worship services but are hesitant to start catechesis classes.  May the Holy Spirit give them a hunger for the Word and draw them into conversation and classes with David.
