For he himself (Jesus) knew what was in man. John 2:25b Lent is a forty-day journey for us to contemplate our Savior’s passion – His heart in giving Himself for us. We begin our travels today with these words from John’s Gospel that remind us that Jesus knew exactly where He was headed. Jesus knows our heart and knows our need. This is the truth of His temptation – His forty-day journey into our sin and death. As we journey with Jesus to His Cross and Passion during this season of Lent, we invite you to contemplate His heart for you and what that means not only for you, but also for your neighbor.
