A significant means of supporting Lutheran seminaries in West Africa is to send visiting professors from seminaries in Ft. Wayne and St. Louis for short visits and instruction trips. These funds finance some of the incidentals (accommodations, meals, transportation etc.) of such trips.

Mt. Tabor seminary in Hawassa Ethiopia trains pastors in a catchment area for about 2 million Lutherans. A Bachelors in Theology is provided. Currently the Mekane Yesus church has almost 14,000 congregations with only 2,800 pastors. Cost for a student to attend this regional seminary is $1000 per year per student.
