Rev. Dr. Antonio and Rebecca Lopez serve the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) as national (domestic) missionaries in Brownsville, Texas. In this role, Antonio serves as a strategic mission developer. He works to establish campus ministry programs and to plant a church in Brownsville.

Antonio was born in New York City and grew up in Los Angeles. His home congregation is Palabra de Dios Lutheran Church, Maywood, Calif. He earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from California State University, Los Angeles. He received a another master’s degree from Concordia University, Irvine, Calif., and his pastoral certification from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He also received his Doctor of Ministry from the Talbot School of Theology at Biola University, La Mirada, Calif. Antonio served as a pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Brooklyn; at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Norwalk, Calif.; and at Palabra de Dios Lutheran Church, Maywood, Calif. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and reading.

Rebecca was born in Seattle, Wash., and grew up in Anchorage and Wasilla, Alaska. She moved to California when she was in college. Her home congregation also is Palabra de Dios Lutheran Church. Antonio and Rebecca have three beautiful children – Emilia, Marcos and Roman.

 

Prayers

Please pray for the Lopez family as they serve in Brownsville. Ask God to give them strength and peace as they adjust to the new environment, culture and community in which they live and serve. Pray that God continues to guide Antonio as he reaches out to the community and shares God’s love with the people. Ask God to prepare the hearts of the people to hear and respond positively in love to the Good News of the Gospel. Let us give thanks to God that the Lopez family are serving His children in Brownsville.
